This year's theme was, 'Books light up our world.' 5/6J really got into the celebrations with a fantastic effort in dressing up. Have a look at our wonderful students, and also the enthusiastic staff!

Congratulations to Izac, Maddi, Perri Perry and Benno on your first round win against Wirreanda Public School on Thursday. Our topic was that 'Life in the country is better than the city.' I was so proud of you all and can't wait for Round 2! They produced some excellent rebuttals that were very convincing to the audience and we will continue to build our skills in debating in preparation for the next competition. A big thank you to Tia for being our emcee for the day and Shennai, our timekeeper. We were also supported by three wonderful classes as our audience and they had their best Aussie 5 manners on display. Thank you to 5/6J, 4E and 2R for your support.
This week's PBL focus is being a great mate. Our class designed a Padlet to share with the whole school. 5/6J found some great images and added their own words to show what they think being a great mate means. I think they made a fabulous example!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! What a fantastic day I had getting together with parents and students to celebrate their learning and also set future goals for the rest of 2015. It is wonderful hearing ideas from parents, carers and the students themselves. When we all work together, your child's needs are best catered for. 5/6J is going to be an exciting place to learn with some fabulous ideas coming from our meetings. There are a couple of meetings to go and if you didn't get the opportunity yesterday, please ring the office and arrange another time.
I also had special permission from our youngest visitor - Axton, to post a photo of our productive day. |
