This week's PBL focus is being a great mate. Our class designed a Padlet to share with the whole school. 5/6J found some great images and added their own words to show what they think being a great mate means. I think they made a fabulous example!

Wow! Once again, I must confess to being a super proud teacher. I would like to share with you some of the amazing moments that your children have given to Irrawang Public School today.
This year we have been reading a text called - 'Wonder', by R.J.Palacio. Our class has learned what it is like to: start a new school, be different, experience bullying, learn about qualities of friendship and most importantly - the benefits of kindness. So, after investigating a website that was kindly shared by Ms Berry - we decided to have our own day of kindness. The students made Thank you cards for staff, offered their services to help each class and played their part at IPS so generously. Our first call out involved reading to the pre-school children. A-W-E-S-O-M-E and caring 5/6 students loved being involved and we plan to do this again next term. Helpers were also needed in Year 1 maths groups, sharpening pencils, assisting with Thou-Walla, helping Ms Giuffre and kindergarten assistance. Busy, busy, busy, but fun, fun and more fun. My favourite quote was shared by Ms T in her kind comments on our blog and one of our exceptional students on the way out the door this afternoon - 'I think every day should be kindness day!' Have a look at some of the photos and I'm sure you will agree. This morning's assembly saw five of our students jump in with little preparation to assist Mrs John to present this week's PBL focus. A true sign of mature leadership by these students to represent their class with pride. Well done Perri Perry, Tia, Travis, Lena and Baker!
Some reasons why we need to follow instructions:
Written by Peter Parker. Each week, I.P.S has a PBL focus. This week's focus is keeping our hands and feet to ourselves. This means everywhere, every time and by everyone. For the people that don't know what PBL means - it stands for Positive Behaviour for Learning. We do this by following the Aussie 5! Written by Locky and Michael.
