What a way to celebrate almost getting to the end of Term 1! Today 5/6J had the chance to taste foods from other cultures around the world. There were samples of French brie, Spanish gazpacho, Italian lasagne, Chinese spring rolls and Vietnamese fried rice and rice paper rolls. We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Michael's mum into our class to demonstrate how to make Vietnamese rice paper rolls. Along with this came the extra visitors to our classroom - Mr Cridland (of course), Mrs Farley, Mrs Mathieson, Mrs Begley, Mrs Holdom and even surprise visitors from another school. We welcomed Mr Brown - principal of Tenambit Public School to share some of our tempting, tasty treats. Overall, the fried rice was a sizzling success with a rating of 10/10 given by all students. Thank you Mai for giving up your time to educate us further about Vietnamese culture. Another tantalising treat came from Benno's dad, who had been busy working, but still managed to come home and bake a luscious lasagne delivered to the door. What a treat, there were students lining up for seconds and even thirds. Look out My Kitchen Rules, IPS parents and students are lining up to be the next super chefs. Just to finish off our term in style and further excellence, I have to admit that I am one extremely proud teacher. Many compliments were given about the behaviour and respect shown by 5/6J to visiting staff and guests. Congratulations and I can't wait to see what Term 2 may bring!
