Today we experimented with using descriptive language to describe simple feelings. For example, the students were asked to write 2-3 sentences to creatively replace the sentence: I was hot.

Ruby wrote: Sweat was flooding through my body like a waterfall bursting at the seams. My temperature was off the chart, my blood was boiling like water in a cauldron.
Zac: It felt like I was in a raging inferno. The sun was blazing harshly. There was no way out.
Tahleah: The sun was scorching as I was sizzling like a sausage.
Jessica: Sweat was dripping off my face. I felt like I was on the sun. I was sweltering. Help me!
Maddi: Exploding! My sweat glands burst into a sweaty mess. Counting every bit of sweat dripping off my face, I slowly started feeling a burning sensation building up all over my body.
Paige B: I could feel my body overheating rapidly, sweat furiously dripping off my body. My body was so exhausted, all I could think of was the delicious, cold taste of water.
Liam: The intense heat was as scorching as a sizzling barbecue. Sweat was running through my sunburnt body.
Paige P: My mouth was like a desert, not a drop of saliva in sight. I felt as if the devil was inviting me to have dinner inside a volcano.
